PE
Intent
It is our intent at Lawnswood Campus to teach children life skills that will positively impact on their future. Our pupils will experience a wide range of physical activities to help foster a lifelong enjoyment of sport and/ or exercise. We aim that our students will be secure in the knowledge that regular exercise has a positive impact on their own physical and mental health. We want to teach children how to cooperate and collaborate with others, as part of a team, understanding fairness and equity of play to embed life-long values.
Implementation
Pupils at the Lawnswood Campus participate in weekly high quality PESSPA lesson. We ensure lessons are inclusive, enjoyable, and engaging, promoting a challenging and socially supportive environment that is accessible to all. The PESSPA curriculum is topic-based where students will experience a wide range of physical activities to help foster life-long enjoyment for sport and/or exercise. Across the campus, we provide opportunities for all children to engage in extra-curricular activities before, during and after school, in addition to competitive sporting events. At Lawnswood Campus we not only teach PESSPA but also develop SMSC and PSHE through our lessons to support the holistic development of the child.
